Wireless Communications (EE/NIS583)

You are introduced to technologies and applications of wireless communication systems, leading you to an appreciation of technical issues at a modest depth. You explore the physics of wave generation, propagation and reception, continuing onto circuits and components. You learn about signal processing as well as techniques employed to impress voice and data information on a wireless channel. Receive an overview of representative applications in current- and next-generation systems. You study E&M waves, transmitters and receivers (analog sections, assuming coded data), cellular wireless systems for mobile communications, cellular LANs for data communications, satellite communications systems, and digital signal processing for wireless data networks.
