Peter Wiesner, IEEE

Peter Wiesner has been with the IEEE since 1989. He is currently heading up Special Projects and Initiatives for IEEE Corporate Strategies and Communications, and is responsible for working with teams to develop new programs, products and services for IEEE members, customers, and constituents. He focuses on conferences, products, and services that facilitate "technology transfer" in emerging technology areas. His current projects include strategic planning for the IEEE China Initiative, including the opening of an IEEE office in Beijing. He is currently completing IEEE.TV, a pilot project involving the production and web streaming of video programs on IEEE technical activities and products. He is also directing Technological Discourses and Sustainability, a systematic process to communicate to IEEE members and the global public about new IEEE technologies and their social, environmental, and economic implications. Previously with IEEE Educational Activities, Wiesner was responsible for developing educational and professional development programs to enable IEEE members to maintain technical and professional vitality.
