Multimedia expert Koduvayur Subbalakshmi
K.P. Subbalakshmi works in multimedia communications and networking, source and channel coding, low bit-rate digital video coding, and wireless communications. Her research focuses on joint source-channel coding, multiple description coding and error-resilient image/video communications. Subbalakshmi is co-founder of the MSyNC, a joint faculty-student laboratory at Stevens studying multimedia sytems, networking and communications. Dr. Subbalakshmi earned her Ph.D. in Enineering Science from Simon Fraser University, her M.E. in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, and her B.Sc.in Physics from the University of Madras.
